Judging by the black sky, I'm going to assume it's a Hunter's Moon. I wonder what would it take for that phenomenon to take place in Equestria. I mean, I once read that it was product of Luna's massive period tinting the moon red while she was up there, but I don't think that was your aim here.

Ok, I gotta comment on this boi. I really love this. I love how Luna's seat is ever so slightly lower than Celestia's; how Luna's crown is the only one on the table; the expressions (though perhaps unintentionally) making Celly look stoic, whilst Luna looks more downtrodden and sad...

Basically, phenomenal work, artist. Absolutely phenomenal.

Review—
Prompt relevance: moderate
Style: pencil shading, solid lines, stylized
Background: some background elements mix with foreground elements, done in a manner to draw attention to certain pieces of the work
Story potential: high
Result: strong contender

This one speaks to me in several ways, but only a few that fit the prompt. Are they pretending nothing is wrong with that blood moon outside? Are they lying to themselves about something else? Lots of questions pop up from this work, and the artistic style is very good; the way the background is laid out, especially at the bottom, draws the eyes to certain parts and elicits feeling.

I really enjoy this one as well ! The stylized horns are esp nice ! This piece leaves me a little wanting though, if nothing else for the potential this has to be VERY dramatic and extra. As it stands its a good illustrative work, the composition works well and is fairly clear. Though putting a big commanding shape at the very center does fight with some of your smaller details !
If you weren't going to push this to 100 with dramatic lighting from the red moon ( a blood moon came to mind first n i think a lunar eclipse would be fitting for this situation ) I believe the point you worked it to was for the best.

(Art) Genre: Bendy-Horn Moon

(Art) Thoughts: I think the combination of being heavily stylized, and using whatever medium it's in, make it a bit hard for me to get into this. Like others, I have many questions. I think >>Zaid Val'Roa suggests an answer that probably doesn't fit but is distractingly hilarious.

(Art Tier): Medium

This drawing is a bit rough, but well composed. The red sun / moon is especially dramatic. I don’t get much expression from the characters. I’ll place this as a mid tier piece.

Thanks for reviewing guys! I'm so so glad that >>MLPmatthewl419 picked up on all of the details that I put in there! I really appreciate it.

Hmm.

This comment almost made me choke on my chocolate milk when I first saw it. I applaud you.

Thanks for calling this a strong contender. Surprisingly this was my least favorite out of the four I did. :/ rip

>>teacorgi
Thanks for liking the stylized horns ;) and you are right that putting that moon/sun right up front does overshadow the rest of my piece. ;;;)

>>CoffeeMinion
Do people not like stylized things? Please don't take offense to this, its not just you, its been a lot of people in past competitions. I do understand that most of the time my style is a dead giveaway, but its really hard for me to change it, so instead I say "eff it" and submit some art. Do you want it exactly like the show or just less... cute/thin?

>>GroaningGreyAgony
It was an incredibly rough picture lol. Those lines ain't got no ruler to them. They're wavy boys.

I’m sorry if my comment came off as a put-down. I think it’s cool when people put their own spin on Pony. I guess the one recurring pet peeve I have is with unicorn horns that stray greatly from show style. I don’t know why but they just bug me for some reason. I guess I hadn’t really put that together until your comment got me to introspect about that, though. Now that I’m more cognizant of that, I might be able to compensate better for that bias when looking at future pieces.
