Wow. Just... This piece is stunning. It looks like you accomplished this using traditional media as well, which I greatly respect. The serene expression, the feeling of movement in the wings and hair, the light from the sun in between the limbs... It's just all fantastic. :raritygasp:
Thank you so much for submitting this! :pinkiehappy:

I concur, the calm and the serene atmosphere this piece conveys is great, from the pony's smile (is it Fluttershy?) to the small dust clouds beneath the pony. This is not a fall despite the pose. It's letting go everything and simply enjoy what comes.
The main tone is grey but the light coming from the middle makes the whole piece shines and it's almost like the grey disappears to make room for colors.
I love it. I still haven't reviewed every piece but from the glimpses I caught from the gallery, I'm pretty sure you'll end up at the top. Thank you very much.

This could use just a tad more contrast on the pony’s features, I think. I agree that this is a top contender. Well done, Artist!

it looks all digital.

it looks all digital.
It's nice, yeah. But I'm not at all having the reaction others are. This really doesn't evoke any emotion in me.
I think I might have preferred if there was a bit more variety in the shades of gray here. But I that's probably just nitpicking. I'm sure this will do very well.
I like that the pony's identity is ambiguous. My first thought was Fluttershy, but I think an author could justify just about any pegasus they want.

I honestly didn't think this piece would get first place. I'm perplexed, but grateful for anyone who liked it.

I’m flattered that you like it. As >>Haze said, this was a digital piece, but I do appreciate that it looks good enough to look like a traditional piece. It would kind of make sense since most artist could work on both since it translates either way. I kind of figured that I would go for black and white pencil type of style for this piece.
And thank you for enjoying my art!

This piece was actually inspired by one of my favorite artist, Finchwing, but I doubt my art could hold a candle to what she could do. I just happened to remember it during the Drawing portion that I wanted to enter something like that while adding my own flare to it. (The pony isn't a specific character, so I let that be open ended. One of the reasons why this is in a sort of black, gray, white sort of format.)

Looking back at it, I agree with you. I guess I didn't notice the contrasts when I saturated the whole piece. But thank you for your review overall!

I suppose so, though I don't think I’ve heard of it.

It's fine. I’m not offended or anything, and I wouldn’t think I could mimic the type of emotion that originally inspired this piece. Thanks for your honest opinion regardless.

Liked I said earlier, I didn't notice there wasn't enough contrast when I saturated the whole piece. I think it's something to keep in mind the next time I create a piece. And yes, I was going for the pony’s identity to be unspecific.
