In life I had six ways to grow
And burgeon with no needful shame,
But each way that I chose to go
It came out very much the same.
Did I just drift and take it slow
It's there that I would cast the blame,
But blitzing high or swirling low
Changed not at all the way I came.
In truth it is a massive show
In which I took a part. I know
That billions more have played this game
And fell like me with scattered aim.
So I will not complain, although
The time, all told, was much too tame.

Nice lament on the life of a snowflake with a parallel to people in general. The rhyme scheme is flawless. The meter is fine in syllable count, but the stress pattern is a tad forced here and there. Not too much to say about it, but it was a nice read. I liked the kind of subtle "six" that many people might not catch the significance of.

Thank you for the positive comments! I haven't much to say about this one that it hasn't said by itself. I am hoping to write on sunnier topics soon.
Sonnets are often my go-to on the longer poetry rounds as they generally meet the 100 word minimum with little fuss. I am by nature a terse writer and not given to epics.
