We All Love You
A cup of flour added to the mix. A few sweet things, nothing sour. Pinkie's blue eyes stared down at the half full bowl of cupcake batter, a smile on her face. She giggled and placed a few more cupfuls of sugar into the batter. A cup of juice remained on top of an uncurled scroll, making sure that the scroll remained still. “These are going to be good!” Pinkie said, before the bowl was held in the air. Batter slowly dribbled from the bowl in a steady stream towards the cupcake pan. Since Pinkie was used to making cupcakes, it only took seconds for her to fill up the pan with perfect sizes of batter.
Pinkie Pie opened up her nearby oven and placed the cupcake tin inside. She then worked her hooves around the knobs and buttons, which caused the oven to turn on and start its work. The pink pony turned around to look at the small mess she made from the ingredients and her right hoof pulled out a wet wipe, probably from thin air. She moved around the kitchen and pulled all of the sticky goo into the trash. After a few minutes, the clean kitchen placed an even bigger smile on the mare's face. After all, Rarity told her that it was polite to leave a kitchen cleaner than when it was used.
Twilight Sparkle's eyes looked over the large amount of books that covered her desk. Her mind worked extra hard to try and figure out which book she wanted to give up. Today's letter from Princess Celestia asked her to find a book to give up to a young girl. Twilight didn't want to give up any of her books. But when the letter told her who the book was going to, she didn’t mind anymore. She bit her tongue a few times in thought, before her horn glowed to bring another book to her attention. “101 Jokes That Will Make Them Laugh” Twilight read. “Fantastic! A good book of jokes would help brighten up the girl!”
Twilight brought her saddlebag over to herself with her magic before she opened one of the straps. Her hooves pushed the book into the bag, followed by locking the strap into place. She sorted out her checklist and made sure to leave time for her visit. Everything was in working order, and that made her happy. “I am ready to start the day!” Twilight said. The doors opened due to her magic and she stepped out into the world. She had to visit her five main friends and find out their plan. Celestia wouldn’t just send this letter to her. If it was this important, the letter was going to be sent to her friends as well.
Applejack was one of the few to have a frown on her face that day. Her eyes looked over many apple trees in front of her. A saddlebag rested on her back, one particular scroll curled up and resting inside of it. Princess Celestia sent her the same letter as the one Twilight and Pinkie Pie got, with a few changes here and there. She wasn't sure what she should give towards the girl that she wanted to help. Pinkie was going to make cupcakes, so Applejack needed to think of something she could do. “Ah, darnit.” Applejack muttered to herself, “What am ah going to do?”
Applejack looked towards the sky, as a bark met her ears. She smiled lightly as Winona walked over to her and rubbed her muzzle against Applejack's legs, twisting around them in a cry for attention. Applejack placed her right hoof onto the dog's ears and scratched her a few times. “Ah love you Winona, you know how ta make me feel better.” She said.
The dog replied with a bark, and Applejack chuckled again. “I love you just like family.” She said. Applejack's scratching stopped and her eyes widened, before her smile widened. “I know what to do!” She exclaimed, as her left hoof moved to adjust her hat. “Time to call up on those favors!”
Rarity's lips pushed against one another, a habit that she created whenever a dress was going to be made. Dress fabric was floating in the air, waiting to be used on the robe that Rarity was making. A light blue robe was softly laying down against a blank mannequin. Rarity had been working on this design all night, and was finally putting on the finishing touches. An older scroll was held down on her table, spread out by a hoof tack in each corner of the paper. Princess Celestia had sent Rarity's letter earlier than the others, since she knew that Rarity needed time for something to be made.
The blue eyed pony smiled as she applied the last sapphire to the robe, and then showed off the light blue hospital robe in all of it's beauty. She brought it to the air, and examined every stitch and fold. It was perfectly made, and would be the perfect gift for the girl. “I can't wait to give this to her!” Rarity said out loud, as she brought a white hat to her head with her magic. “It's the least a lady can do.”
Rainbow Dash soared through the sky, a smile on her face as her wings brought her to a group of clouds that needed to be cleared. She remembered the letter that Princess Celestia sent to her, along with Derpy's eventual crash into her house. After Rainbow gave Derpy a few bandages and sent her on her way, Rainbow picked up the letter. Princess Celestia asked her to clear out every cloud in a certain area surrounding a sick girl, so that the gifts provided to her would look even better with a shining sun in her room.
Rainbow frowned slightly when she remembered Celestia's letter, and the unfortunate position that the girl was in. “Being sick is not awesome.” Rainbow said as she stepped on top of the clouds. One slight punch and a single cloud was gone. She moved throughout the group, pushing clouds aside or punching them away to make room for the sunlight. Rainbow looked down at the Ponyville hospital, where she was supposed to visit later. As much as she wanted to put a smile on that girl's face, it had to be a surprise. Princess Celestia told her so.
Fluttershy slowly moved back and forth between the numerous animals in her room. Bears, rabbits, mice, cats, and all sorts of animals in between were standing in a circle around the shy pony. They were all completely clean after a bath and waiting for Fluttershy to make her decision. She was going to give up one of her animals as a pet for the girl that they were going to visit. Princess Celestia sent her a letter saying that Fluttershy had to visit the girl and provide all the comfort that she could. Fluttershy thought that if she could give an animal to a sick girl, they would become happier and get better.
Fluttershy looked towards one of her rabbits. Angel was missing from the pack, since there was no way that she could give up her best bunny friend. Each animal smiled and Fluttershy bit her lip. A nearby cat moved over to Fluttershy's legs and slowly moved around them while she purred. Fluttershy smiled before she picked up the cat and placed a collar on her. “You are going to be such a good gift.” Fluttershy said, before she softly pushed the cat into a comfortable cage to hold the cat. She looked at a nearby clock and her eyes widened. “I have to go!” She said, her wings softly beating. She rushed out the door towards the Ponyville hospital.
Six lips were individually bitten, as the main six stood outside a particular door. The student, the hard worker, the party pony, the shy pony, the fashion queen, and the loyal pony were all waiting for their nerves to calm down. After all, it was their job to make sure that the girl had the best day ever. Twilight didn't have a schedule for this, since she didn't have enough time to create one. She was the first to move towards the door. Her hoof pushed against the door knob, before she opened it and slowly stepped inside.
Nurse Redheart looked up from the heart monitor and smiled, before pressing a hoof to her mouth to alarm the ponies that visitors had to be quiet. Twilight nodded her head before she waved her friends inside. The other five entered the room. Applejack looked through both sides of the hallway, before she entered and closed the door.
Twilight Sparkle smiled as she looked towards the hospital bed.
The girl's eyes slowly opened, and stared at the six new visitors. A smile moved across her face.
“Hello there.” Twilight Sparkle said, as she stared into the eyes of the girl. “My name is Twilight Sparkle, it is very nice to meet you!”
Twilight stuck her hoof out, allowing the girl to shake it before she moved it back onto the ground. She turned to her friends.
Applejack was the next one to introduce herself, and she smiled. “Howdy partner! Mah name is Applejack.” She said while a bucket of apples was placed nearby the girl's bed. “Pleasure to meet you.”
Pinkie smiled and placed a tray of fresh cupcakes onto the girl's end table. “My name is Pinkie Pie! I baked some cupcakes for you! I wanted to have this be a surprise for you, but I guess you found out already!” She exclaimed, and then giggled a few times.
Rarity smiled and placed the hospital robe on top of the bedpost, making sure it hung perfectly before she introduced herself. “My name is Rarity, it is nice to meet you.” She said, before she took a step back. “We all brought you gifts.”
Rainbow Dash nodded. “Yeah! We brought you gifts to show you how much we were thinking about you!” She said, before she placed a signed Wonderbolt ticket onto the girl's end table. It was Rainbow Dash's most prized possession, and she was giving it to the girl.
Fluttershy nodded, and took a step forward, placing the cat cage at the bedside. “Yeah... Um... I hope you like my gift... I spent a long time trying to pick it out.” She said, somewhat terrified of the girl's possible remarks. So far however, there wasn't any.
Twilight continued. “Princess Celestia sent my friends and I a letter, telling us how you were doing. After we found out, we wanted to meet you.”
Pinkie nodded her head. “Yeah! After all, I know everypony in Ponyville! When they told me that you were transferred here from another city, I wanted to find out who you were and throw you a party to celebrate!” Pinkie motioned towards a cannon in the corner of the room where a green alligator was laying on top of it. The alligator's eyes were staring off into space, but it had the cannon's wick its mouth.
Applejack nodded her head. “It's always nice to make new friends.” She added.
“Yes it is. Darling, I must say, you look absolutely adorable!” Rarity added, and she brought the robe over to the girl. “Please try it on. I want to make sure that it is the right size.”
While that was happening, Rainbow Dash looked outside to make sure that the clouds remained away from the sun. She then moved back to the girl and stretched her wings a small amount.
Fluttershy moved closer to the girl and placed one of her hooves onto the girl's chest once she was snug and back in her bed, thgirl e sapphire robe perfectly fitting her body. “My friends and I wanted to keep you company for the day.” Fluttershy said in her small tone. “I got you a kitty cat. Do you want to see it?”
Fluttershy's smile grew wider as the girl agreed, and she pulled the snow white cat out of her prison, before placing the cat onto the bed. The cat moved around the bed and pawed the blankets, before it fell asleep in the girl's legs.
Applejack heard a knock at the door, and she moved over to the door. She opened it and poked her head out, followed by stepping outside. She closed the door behind herself.
Twilight smiled as she brought her gift over to the girl, the previous joke book that she picked out. “I brought you a book to read. I'm sure you love books, since you are such a smart girl.” She said.
Pinkie placed a cupcake into the girl’s hoof, and then smiled as parts of it were nibbled. The poor probably had a few tests, and was not hungry. “You can have as many cupcakes as you want! I'll make more if you need more.” She said.
Rarity was about to speak before the door to the room opened, and twenty ponies slowly walked into the room, forming a small crowd around the girl. Every major pony from Ponyville was in the room, and a bigger group remained outside in a single file line. The remaining five Elements of Harmony were surprised at the sudden amount of ponies. However nothing was more surprising than when Princess Celestia bowed her head and entered the room.
The ponies in the room attempted to move to one knee, but Celestia waved their bow away. “Hello there, Kiki.” Princess Celestia said, a warm and motherly smile on her face. “I trust that my little ponies have given you a warm welcome?”
Twilight Sparkle wanted to ask her teacher some questions over what was going on, but it seemed Celestia already knew. The princess moved to the side of the table and placed her arm around the gil, before she looked at the rest of the ponies in the room. “Kiki is a girl that has been fighting a sickness for some time. Some of her treatments can only be done in Ponyville, which is why she was moved here. Today, Kiki, we are not going to think about the treatments that you will have to take in the morning, or the pills that will make you feel better. Today, what matters is the ones who surround you, and care about you. Even if they just met you, the power of friendship is capable of creating the most powerful bonds, ones that can even defeat illnesses itself.”
Princess Celestia turned her head down to Kiki, and placed a small kiss on the top of the girl's head. “Applejack gathered every pony in the hospital so that they could tell you how brave you are being, and how much we care about you. We will start now.”
Celestia turned to Twilight Sparkle, whose face immediately turned red at being put on the spot. She moved up to the hospital bed and smiled down at the girl. “Kiki, this is the first time that I have met you, but I can already see the talent that is within you. Everypony in this room is capable of seeing it. Your voice is beautiful, and I would love to hear you sing when you pull through this. I got you a joke book as a gift, because I know a good laugh can help from time to time when the day is getting gloomy. Keep the book and tell me some jokes when you pull through, okay?” She asked, before Twilight smiled and took a step back.
Pinkie was the next to speak. She slowed down her words a small amount to make sure that her speech wouldn't confuse anypony. After all, she was capable of talking really fast. “This is the first time that all of us have met you, Kiki! When everyone finishes their speech, I am going to fire up the party cannon! Anyway, I wanted you to know that you are one of the best humans ever! I mean, I know that illnesses can be mean, and it is hard to keep your chin up. But you have to giggle at the ghosties, okay? If any of the mean sickness tries to hurt you, remember how strong you are, and you will pull through!” Pinkie smiled and took a step back, noticing that Kiki didn't touch much of the muffins.
Rainbow Dash smiled and stepped forward. “Kiki, you are probably one of the bravest people that I will ever know. I mean... You are holding up, and staying strong after everything that has come at you. This sickness is going to go away, all of us know it. I gave you my Wonderbolt ticket, because I always looked up to the Wonderbolts because they are fearless fliers who I want to join someday. But I realized, that you are the one who I should be looking up to. You are facing something dangerous, Kiki, and you aren't backing down. If there was an Element of Bravery, you would have it.” Rainbow said, and she smiled before stepping back.
Rarity was next, and she stepped forward. “Darling, you remind me so much of my little sister. The two of you are young, not sure of your special talents yet, and you both have so much potential, like Twilight said. Darling, you are going to be alright. We are all going to watch you grow up to be a healthy woman, and whether you stay with us in Ponyville, or go back to where you came from, that doesn't matter to us. All that matters is that you get better. If you ever need anything from me, just let me know and I will bring it. The doctors have my address, and Princess Celestia can send me a message whenever. I hope you like your robe, shine on you beautiful diamond.” She said, before Rarity stepped back into the group, still smiling.
Most of the ponies looked towards Fluttershy and she let out a small yelp in embarrassment, after having so many eyes on her. She took a few steps forward and looked at Kiki. A smile moved across her face as her fear disappeared. “The cat is already warming up to you.” Fluttershy noticed, the smile becoming slightly wider. “Cats can usually tell what kind of person they are near, Kiki. I'm sure this cat wants to stay with you forever, much like we all wish we could. Uhm... All of us love you Kiki, you are a kind and loving individual. I mean, what random girl gets surrounded by dozens of ponies and treats them with open hooves? Please get better Kiki.” She said.
Applejack noticed that it was her turn and she smiled before she stepped forward. “Howdy partner. Ah wanted to tell you that I am proud of you. All of us are proud of you, for staying brave for all of this time. Ah know, tests and doctors can be scary, but you haven't denied a test yet. You kept going, with the tenacity-”
“Gesundheit”
“Of an apple farmer.” Applejack lifted her hat off of her head and placed it on top of Kiki's head. Applejack's mane looked slightly messed up from the hat, but she didn't care. “You are more brave and smart than most ponies I know around here. If anyone deserves to wear that hat, it's you.” She said. Applejack moved back into the group, and smiled as the breeze from the window chilled the top of her head. She could get used to it.
Princess Celestia smiled and looked towards the group. “Now that the main six have given their speeches, is there any pony that would like to speak or give a gift?” She asked.
A line formed, moving from the bed and out into the hallway. Princess Celestia smiled before she allowed the first pony to talk.
An hour later, the line moved down to only a few more ponies, as each pony gave their speech and gift. Kiki's side of the room was full of gifts, to the point where the single file line was almost too big.
Princess Celestia looked at the room as the last pony left. “Is there anypony else who wishes to say something?” She asked.
Pinkie's eyes widened and she jumped up in the air before she moved to the door. “One sec!” She said, as she moved out of the hallway. A few minutes later, Pinkie came back with another human, somehow making his way into the story. He was wearing a pair of black dress slacks, a maroon red shirt with a black hat, and an apron. He had black hair, brown eyes, and a smile on his face. The fourth wall must have opened right when he got off of work. “I found the writer of the story!” She said, the largest grin on her face as she pulled the human over to the bed.
“Woah.” The writer said, almost falling over from the pulling. “Calm down Pinkie. I don't know how you got me in here, but I'm glad that I am.”
Pinkie looked to the writer and then at Kiki.
The writer smiled and looked at Kiki, before he cleared his throat. He seemed to be having trouble finding his words, probably because there was a small stream of tears moving down his face. “Kiki, what I am going to say has probably been said by the other ponies, but I just wanted you to know, that someone like you is too good for sickness to get the better of you. You are one of the best girls I have ever heard of. You are brave, cute, you have a family that will always love you, and every brony in the world wants to see you grow up and become a healthy woman. We love you Kiki, we always will. Every human, pony, and anything in between loves you. We will continue to show you the friendship that we can deliver. I'm sure you know as well as I do, that friendship is magic. I'll try to visit sometime, I want to see that smile with my own eyes. Get well Kiki, and stay strong.”
